Rosa began to learn the viola in fourth grade at her public school in Salina, KS. She continued to perform in her Middle and High School Orchestra until she moved to California to begin her musical journey at Cabrillo College in Aptos. While at Cabrillo College she gained experience teaching in the Cabrillo College/Suzuki Strings Program and was a Teaching Assistant for Sue Brown’s Intro. to Music Theory & the Beginning /Intermediate Orchestras from 2017-2021. She also taught a beginning strings after school strings class at the El Sistema program at Gault Elementary.

After graduating with Honors on her A.A., Music Degree from Cabrillo College, she transferred to San Jose State University in 2017 and graduated Cum Laude with a BM in Music Education in 2021. In her undergrad years at SJSU, she assisted with The SJSU String Project, an organization that provides violin classes to elementary and middle school students by giving Music Ed majors supervised hands-on teaching experience.

She has performed in various Chamber groups, Symphonic and String Orchestras, in Mariachi ensembles, with local Children’s Musical Theater productions, The Cabrillo Stage & with Pasquale Esposito. As a performing violist, she also has experience teaching beginning cello & beginning/intermediate violin/viola students of all ages. She currently has completed the Certification for the Violin Teacher Training for Suzuki Books: 1-4 and is currently the String Methods Instructor at Georgiana Bruce Kirby Preparatory School in Santa Cruz, CA.
